MAC STUDIO FIX: Worth all they hype?

Afternoon blogger babes! Sorry I have been completely M.I.A this past week, you know how you just get stuck in a rut where you are just too tired and lazy to do anything and to think? Yeah, well that's what I have been up to :) So apologies for that...

Well, I am back today! And I am just doing a quick blog post, with the short amount of time I have before my little rascal wakes up. Now, I feel like I needed to do my own review on this little foundation because I think it gets way to hyped up in my opinion. Read on to find out more...

MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID / SPF 15

Now if you tell me that you haven't ever heard of this little number before then I would question if you were a true beauty lover. I mean everyone has heard of this foundation, many youtube guru's definitely have this little gem in their makeup collection and because of that I of course "had to get one". As always , I follow trends and when something is talked up about, I will eventually go out and try it for myself. However, with this I was a tad disappointed.

Do not get me wrong though! Mac is an amazing makeup brand, fabulous lipsticks worth every dollar and yes their blushes and highlighters and bronzers are fantastic and of course so many celebrities hail this brand too. But with me there was just something I didn't like about this particular foundation and  for an easy Monday I thought I'd just do pro's and con's to make it easier to read ;)

Pro's /
- Medium to Full coverage foundation which is great if you like that sort of thing. With all the scars and discolouration on my face, I love this foundation for that fact alone!

- Longwearing, if I wear this in the morning and have set it nicely with a powder than this baby can last me the whole day until I have to take my make up off. Not sure how it will go in the Australian summer though. Many of my foundations melt off my face on a 35 degree day ;)

- A little goes a long way. If you only use one foundation, then studio fix would be great for you! I only need half the amount I would usually use with drug store foundations to cover my face and if I didn't change my foundations all the time then this one alone would last me anywhere between 6 - 8 months maybe?

Con's/

- Breakouts. Now this maybe doesn't apply to everyone and I hadn''t heard the word on the street until after I had purchased and used this but with acne prone skin, studio fix breaks me out a couple of days after I've worn it. I know for a fact that it doesn't happen with everyone, so don't let this freak you out and not buy it because the YouTuber 'LustreLux' maintains the fact that this actually helped clear her skin. If only that happened with me, this is one of the reasons I was disappointed.

- The cost! Okay for a stay at home mum that works legit three hours a week, girrrrlll I can't be spending so much dosh on foundation alone even though I do.. I bought the one I have in New Zealand and I remember it cost me something like $64, now I could buy 2 or 3 drugstore foundations for that price hahahahaha. Maybe not as good quality but they sure would do the job Lol!

- Packaging. Now seriously, these days a majority of foundations come with the pump with no extra cost, but the fact it costs extra to purchase it with the pump in my opinion is ridiculous. Now don't go and boo me because I understand if this was your daily foundation you would only need to buy the pump once and reuse it with all the next bottles you buy. But since that's not the case for me, I have to shake it out, and even when it does get to the end I will have to go in there and end up scrapping all of it out. That won't be for a long time though. I am only less than a 1/4 of the way through it :)

That's only a quick summary of the main pro's and con's and of course many Mac lovers won't agree with much I say and fair enough, everyone has a different opinion. But overall, this foundation is a fantastic high quality, full coverage foundation for me that lasts me hours without looking like my face has  moved all over the place haha, but with my skin type I hate the fact that it breaks me out and with the cost of this thing, I definitely favour my Loreal true match over it. However, when I am attending an event or going to something special then I always find myself reaching for my Mac Studio Fix Fluid because I know I can trust it.

Excuse my ugly hand. Quick before and after photo /
Right - no foundation Left - Studio Fix Fluid

It has a nice overall coverage and finish and with the colour range Mac provides, than you should have no trouble finding an exact match to your skin colour or something close enough. The smell of it isn't all that nice but I have gotten strangely comfortable with it, sitting here sniffing it now like some sort of freak haha, it does smell pretty good. I wear NC30 and it is so perfect to my skin tone. I am not too sure what else to say, but if you don't have a Mac foundation and you feel the need to jump on the bandwagon then I personally think you should go with the STUDIO FIX FLUID. I am not an expert and I don't make myself up to be, but whenever I do hear Mac foundation being talked about 98% of the time, this is the one that they are talking about and with that many people purchasing this goodie then why would you want to try the others first ;)

Thanks for reading bubs! I know I said a quick post but uhhhh screw it hahaha, I always have a lot to say and you poor guys choose to read the whole thing, so don't blame me ;)
Enjoy your week, and stay positive my loves, don't get stuck in the same rut I have been in, you end up eating countless amounts of chocolate and feeling lazy and guilty and PERIODS are not an excuse..... okay maybe they are.
Toodles, Tonya

MAKEUP MONDAY: Kim Kardashian inspired spring look

Afternoon, little blogger world and welcome back. Now today instead of rambling on with a 1000 word essay I thought I'd just do a Makeup Monday and show you a picture of my inspiration Makeup and then show you my little recreation of it and at the end just list the products I used? That sounds simple and easy for a Monday right!

Okay so before I get started, please just prepare yourself for a no makeup selfie, It freaks me out to do it but hey you have to get out of your comfort zone sometimes and today is just one of those days. Hope you guys enjoy my little Kim Kardashian inspired makeup look and look out for more of these unplanned blog posts as I am one of thee most last minute, unorganised people ever x happy blogging huns!
Now this little gem I found whilst scrolling through all 1900 of Kim Kardashians Instagram photos, and I was so amazed at how freaking simple and glamourous she looked! It's perfect for a simple spring makeup and yet you could totally take it to that next level by adding false lashes and adding a smokey eye :) However I chose to recreate this as close too hers as I could.

Like she says in the post, those are her natural lashes and its just got a cute vibe with the pink cheeks and soft pink lips. I definitely had fun turning myself into Kim K today haha!
Quick look away! haha... ugghhhh I know but shut up. This is my face in the morning, no filter, no makeup, just the natural me. This is my starting canvas.

To start off with, I have primed my face, placed foundation down and then have began highlighting the key areas where Kim looks like she has. I hate caking my face up, so I haven't gone too over the top like she has with the highlighter. Mine is a bit toned down, which is exactly how I like it. I like my skin to still be able to breathe haha! Also, at this stage I like to put some sort of chapstick or lip balm on, so once I'm ready for lips, they'll be nice and moist and ready for lipstick or gloss.
Finally filled in my brow's, tried to keep them a bit natural without too much definition. When I kept looking at the Kim photo, her eyebrows just looked nicely filled in, they don't look over drawn, or as if they are coloured in with a texta, but soft and natural. I've also lightly contoured my cheeks, nothing dramatic. In my opinion, the key to this look is simplicity, nothing over the top, or to dramatic, just soft colours. I use my phone camera which is a piece of crap and the lighting probably wasn't the best but I have added my blush in this picture, but it hasn't really shown up. I used my BH cosmetics 10 blush palette and I mixed a soft purple and a hot pink shade to get a nice soft pink colour.

These two pictures are the finished product! I know I am no Kim K, but when you have different face shapes and features to work with then you won't ever look 100% like her. Once again iPhone cameras are a piece of poo, and my lashes don't look as thick or long as hers but hey, I honestly have never tried to recreate a look before and this was my first attempt EVER and I think I did okay...ish hehe :)

In these last two photos,  have done my eyes using my Chichi's Classic Glamorous eye shadow palette. I used a light gold shimmery colour as my base and then mixed a dark brown shimmer with a light purple shimmer in the crease to define my eyes a bit more. I put the same dark brown shimmery shade under my bottom lashes because in the photo of Kim you can definitely see a brown shade in the same place. My eye makeup hasn't really shown up but you can kind of see it ;) Then I've just chucked a few layers of mascara on and a Nyx butter gloss on my lips and Hey Girl! Haha if it isn't too obvious, I also attempted to contour my nose a bit too. In Kimmy's picture you can see her contoured nose quite obviously and I thought heeeeeey why not haha. It is supposed to give off a straight, slimmed nose effect but I dunno, I feel like when people do that sometimes it just looks a bit overdone, just like how I look in this picture LOL.

Once again, I have managed to write a big novel even though I tried so hard not to bore you all to death but I'll finally leave by listing the products I used in each area. And that will be it I swear! Thanks for coming back guys, and I hope you enjoyed :) see you all on Wednesday and sending you all love. Okay I'll shut up now.... bye.

CHIT CHAT : Rant + rave on online shopping

Don't you just love Fridays?.... yeah me too, usually! However... Today I was going to change things up a bit, I mean how many beauty blogs are out there right? Instead I was going to be a bit different and do a fashion post.. ha ha ha . I'm so not usually like that and it actually scares me to put photos up of myself and having to pose and act cool in clothes at the same time.. freaks me out! BUT today I don't have to because as things do, it didn't quite go to plan!

On Wednesday I got paid and of course the first thing I did was a bit of online shopping yeaaaaah girl... haha and that was all fine and dandy. Then today my package arrived and I was just so excited to open it and instead I get this....

Now, I could have done a fashion post on this I know but it's just not going to happen when firstly
- it's 2 sizes too small

 secondly
- its one of the most ugliest things in the world

and thirdly
- this is what I actually ordered.

So you can see why I am not a happy customer. I mean come on it's Friday, one of thee best days of the week and to have something like this bring me down ughhhh :( Okay so I don't want to rant and rave all day and I mean for all I know it could have just been a simple computer error. I'll just have to wait and see, as I have emailed the company I ordered from so I'll patiently wait to hear back from them.

Now the lesson I have learnt from this today is that:

- Things don't always go to plan and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it, whether it be a silly online clothing order or you get a spray tan and it starts raining when you walk outside and then your tan is ruined(worst examples ever) but hey all relevant! Learn to accept it and move on or in my case write a massive rant and move on

- secondly, don't trust all online clothing websites. From looking at this dress they sent me today, the sizes look Asian sizing so thank god I ordered a size up with mine :) and seriously the dress is made of such a cheap fabric. Below is the picture from online. Eh maybe if I had her body then It would look that good on me too, but looking at this dress in reality..... yeah mmm no.

Just be wary when you guys do some online shopping. The sites I trust are all in my little widget on the right under 'Tonya's fave online stores'. Don't worry the site these babys are from is not listed on there.

If I do end up ever getting my correct order, I will still do a Fashion post on them as I am not wasting my money and seriously what I ordered looks 100x better then that blue.... piece of fabric dress.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading my rant haha, and please please leave a comment below if you have any great clothing websites I need to check out. My wardrobe needs an update and I need a new site to have a browse on after this one has failed me hehehe :)

Love you all and enjoy your Friday and stay positive

The Frank Effect!

Happy hump day babes! If you haven't already heard, Eva Mendes has finally given birth to a baby girl.... That's right ladies, Ryan Gosling is officially a Daddy... I can literally hear all the hearts breaking over the world but not to worry as I have a new blog post that will take your mind off it... at least for 5 minutes haha :) xx

THE FRANK EFFECT

Once again, I am probably the last person to jump on the latest craze and this time it's all about the 'coffee scrubs'! The one that I believe is the most talked about among my Facebook and social media friends would have to be 'frank'. Sooo like always I have jumped on the bandwagon and tried it out myself.

There are 3 different choices

- original / with sweet almond and orange

- coconut and grapeseed

- cacao

because I am a tightarse ;) I chose the cheapest option of course which turns out to only be $14.95 if you live in Australia, with the most 'Expensive' you could say, being the coconut one which would honestly be the one I would absolutely love to try at $17.95. Coconut just has an amazing, divine smell to it that reminds me of Summer, so next time I will definitely be getting my hands on that baby.

Even if you aren't a fan of exfoliating scrubs I would honestly be buying this just to smell it. It's addictive!! At first I was like ughhh but after I kept sniffing the bag like some sort of drug addict I got hooked on the scent! Haha, which does sound kind of creepy, but if you do love the smell of coffee, this is what you need in your life

If you follow my blog you would have seen I tanned myself up last week, so naturally I needed to exfoliate it all off. Frank is perfect to get this job done. It's as simple as grabbing two small handfuls and jumping in the shower to dampen your body and just massaging it all over yourself. Yes it makes one hell of a mess, but it's so much more fun with a partner. Too bad, since I am a mum, one of us usually has to be on parent duty while the other is rushing to have a shower. But feel free to grab your boyfy and drag him in with you.... lol!

It only takes five to ten minutes to set and dry and once you've done that you simply wash it off and continue with your usual shower routine. After I washed it off, my skin felt so fricken soft and so so smooth, I can't describe in words how baby fresh it felt. I smelt like a little coffee bean for a while until I moisturized myself. My tan mostly all came off, there were a few parts where it was still a bit patchy but I think that was me just not scrubbing it in for long enough. ( I was rushing... oops!)

With all the goodies, it claims to have packed into Frank it does say that it helps to cleanse and clarify with brown sugar and sea salt and then soothe, moisturize and tone with cold-pressed almond oil. Knowing that these ingredients are all natural you can kind of believe that it does as it says, although I haven't been using it long enough to say 100% that my tummy and thighs are all toned up... secretly have my fingers crossed for that one although I am a bit of a realist and know its not magically going to make me toned haha!

Overall Frank does what you would expect an exfoliant to do. Scrub off all the dead skin, and smooth it out, as well as moisturising your body too. This did exactly that for me, my skin felt soft and smooth. It's added coffee scent and natural ingredients are just a fantastic bonus, add your partner into the mix and you have the whole package, a pamper session and some one on one time with your loved one. What more cold you ask for? With three choices of scents, and the bonus which I forgot to mention, targeting acne, cellulite and stretchmarks as well as many other skin problems, you are onto a real winner with this little beauty.

Read all about it and get your hands on it no matter what part of the world you live in right here : http://au.frankbody.com/collections/all

Thanks for reading my babes.  have a little surprise for you on Friday, changing things up a bit so you don't get bored with the same old product reviews... make sure to follow my blog so you don't miss out! See you Friday :D

The 411 On Rosehip Oil?

Hey honeys and welcome back to my blog! Hope you had a fantastic weekend and aren't too hung over heading back to work or school or whatever today ;)

So I purchased this little baby on Saturday and I have only used it twice so far. Honestly, I am one of those people that if there are enough people talking up a product and saying how amazing it is I will go out and try it because heeeey who doesn't like something that may work hahaha. Anyway, I have purchased the ' Certified Organic Rosehip Oil- by Trilogy' and decided to give it a go.

ROSEHIP OIL

The benefits of this little goodie are to:

- improve the visible appearance of acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles

- help nourish, moisturise, soften and smooth the skin.

This is like the answer to all my prayers! I have been battling acne and scarring since I hit puberty and to find something that is able to reduce the appearance would be amazing, it would mean I could get back the confidence I lost and wouldn't feel so self conscious when I don't wear makeup. Also after having a baby, I have stretch marks galore ... BOOOOO!!!... and even after only using this product twice I noticed a small amount of change.

My face felt so much softer and looked glowy after I applied only the three recommended drops. That small amount goes a long way so don't get too excited and squirt out the whole lot.

I feel like everyone is becoming more aware about the chemicals and products they choose to put on their skin so I feel very happy knowing that this is 100% organic. Having naturally oily skin I was a bit sceptical about applying more oil to my face but after doing my research, this oil does so much more good for your skin and doesn't make you feel oilier at all and actually has balancing properties in it. It hydrates the dry areas and balances areas that you find oily

I've taken before photos and I'll see how it goes after the next few weeks and do an update in maybe a month to show the difference in appearance of my scars :)If you guys have stretch marks or acne scars or are worried about fine lines and wrinkles and can't wait too see my progress than definitely think about trying this out. The little dropper is so cute and it is on the pricier side but for the small amount you do use, this product should last you a very long time.

Make sure you purchase a good quality Rosehip oil, there is a big difference between budget and premium quality. Certified Organic is the best as it has usually been accredited by USDA, ACO, ECOCERT or BioGro. Another point to remember is that the oil should be dark not clear, so when buying your own rosehip oil keep an eye out for that. If you have already tried it please let me know your experience in the comments below!

See you on Wednesday guys, sending love and positive vibes your way
mwah! Tonya

ChiChi Mini Makeup Haul + Review

Welcome back sugarplums!!!
Finally have the time do get my little mini haul / first impressions up on these Chichi babies that I ordered last week. Many of my fave YouTubers including Shaaanxo have a tonne of reviews on Chichi products and considering it's an Australian brand I thought it would be fitting to do my first real makeup review on them... so I hope you enjoy!

1. CREAMY MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK - CALENDAR GIRL

I initially bought this product because in one of Shaaanxo's YouTube videos, she did her own little review and swatch on most, maybe even all of the creamy matte liquid lipsticks and she recommended this specific colour for people with tanned or olive skin tones, however Calendar Girl made me look as if I had foundation lips which was the worst! That's not going to stop me from buying another one in the future though... That's because although this colour wasn't right, the actual formula was AMAZING!!! My lips are always dry and I tend to shy away from any lip product that has the word 'Matte' as they usually end up looking flaky and even drier than before. But this little baby is so soft and creamy and is enriched with vitamin E that it feels like its doing something good for your lips. Seriously if you are thinking of trying a matte liquid lipstick definitely get one of these babies!!! They're amazeballs!! I think next time I'll skip the online shopping for one and go down to Target to make sure it's going to match my skin tone.

2. 3 IN 1 EYE CONCEALER - MEDIUM
This little cutie is so versatile, you don't just have to use it as an eye concealer but like the name says it can be used three different ways. One of them being as a concealer to hide any imperfection on your face. It blended well with my foundation and did exactly what it had to do, hiding my dark circles under my eyes and the acne scars on my cheeks. I wasn't too fussed with this, I mean if you don't have a concealer than definitely go grab one of these little guys but if you already have one in your makeup kit that works then I wouldn't rush out to grab this.

3. BRONZE WALL OF SHIMMER FACE POWDER

I am in loooovvveeee with this highlighter!!! I have many liquid highlighters and one other highlighting powder but this little compact is amazing!!! Excuse the fact that I touched it before I took a picture, it just looked so good that I had to feel the texture. It is so soft and velvety and it is so pigmented. If you love a natural bronzed glow this baby is for you. I applied it to my cheekbones and it came up so well, so subtle yet every way you turn it gives off that nice glowy look that you look for in a highlighter. Definitely go and check this out and tell me what you think in the comments below!!

4. GLAMOUROUS CLASSICS EYESHADOW PALETTE

If you're like me and watch a lot of YouTube beauty guru's or read up about the best beauty products then there is no way that you haven't heard of the Chichi Glamorous eye shadow palettes. I initially wanted to purchase either the Bronze or Nude palette but they were all sold out!! Which just goes to show how in demand this little collection is. I instead got the Classics  palette as it had shades that I could easily wear everyday and do a nice smokey eye look which is great, it also has a nice orange shade and a light purple shade which is going to be perfect for spring and summer. They are so so pigmented and really easy to blend which is what you look for in an eye shadow. All of the Glamorous palettes are freaking fabulous and I know that I'll be reaching for this one a lot over the warmer months for sure!

5. FABULOUS AND FLAWLESS FOUNDATION - 9 GOLDEN

Once again, I bought this product because another one of my fave up and coming YouTubers Danielle Mansutti did her own little review on this as well. The Fabulous and Flawless Foundation came out full coverage and makes your skin look so clean and porcelain. This shade only suits me once I have put fake tan on, so coming into summer I know I'll be using this allll the timeeee. It lasts a long time during the day and with a full coverage foundation you usually expect it to come off looking a bit cakey but I found that this didn't at all and looked nice for most of the day, towards the end of the day though it did seem to become slightly patchy but most affordable foundations do! Definitely recommend this one for special events, if you are looking for a full coverage foundation as it makes your skin look absolutely flawless.

Thanks so much for reading this guys and I hope you found at least one product that you will try! Take a look at their online website which I will link here : Chichi website
They have such a huge range of products, including false eyelashes which I really want to try. But if you have tried something else in their range that you think I should try then let me know in the comments below :D
Love you alllll

Le Tan Deep Bronze Review

Hi my loves! So its the beginning of SPRING yaaaaaaaaaayyyy and I have tanned myself up today using the 'Le Tan instant tanning mousse' in the colour 'Deep Bronze'. I'll list the link to their website a bit further down for anyone who would like to check it out for themselves :) However, I purchased my own a while back from Priceline, I think it was because at the time they were having a sale on the whole Le Tan brand and since I can't help myself when there is a bargain I had to grab it obviously :D

The fact that Le tan products are very inexpensive is a major plus for all those girls (or guys) on a budget which makes tanning at home an even bigger money saver then actually going to get a spray tan at a salon. Although, naturally I am already tanned, this deep bronze colour is perfect for me and just evens out my skin tone making my whole body just one colour. I also have pigmentation on my neck and after I had applied two layers of this soft, creamy mousse it made it less noticeable which makes me suuuppperrr happy considering it's usually something I am quite self conscious of.

Like it says on the bottle, the application leaves a streak free appearance and looks very natural rather than that orange tint many tanning products usually give off. This definitely doesn't make me look orange at all and it doesn't look obvious that I have "fake" tan on. Yaaay! Haha. On the bottle, it says that it is caramel tinted and after smelling the product you could even say that it has a caramel scent, I smell delicious and even my partner said that I smell good... he never says that after I tan usually :) and if your partner is giving you compliments, wouldn't that just make your day?

What makes this such a great product is that last  time I had it on, it definitely stuck to its word on fading evenly over time. I didn't become patchy and actually didn't even notice it had faded until about 7 days later even though it does say to reapply every 3 days but I am way to lazy to do that, and this was just with two applications 7 days before. I haven't tried many tanning products in my life time, but with all the reviews out there I can tell you my 100% honest opinion and that is this Letan Fast Tan instant foaming mousse is worth every single cent. The smell of it is delicious, the application of the mousse is simple and easy and it really is natural looking without leaving any streaks. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a quick tan on a budget. I think next time I'll have to try the colour 'Dark Bronze' though just to get a bit darker as I don't mind being suuperrr duppperrr tanned up!

Oh and one more thing Le Tan is against animal testing which just makes them even better :)
Here's the link to their website to check out all their products : Letan website

Check out my tan in this photo below!

Honestly, my phones camera doesn't do my tan justice at all. It's a lot darker than that in reality. The top picture is before and the bottom is after and this is straight after I had applied it. I tried to take a picture to show you how much darker it has become after two hours of wearing it, but the lighting let me down. I'll hopefully put one up on Instagram later, maybe.

Thanks honey's for reading and I hope this has helped! Next time you're looking for an instant tan definitely check Letan out :) you'll be happy you did!
Love you all!
